Excalibur® T8 & T12 Lamp Notice
With the addition of EOL protection to the Excalibur® & Trident ranges in accordance with the published IEC 60079-7 standard, a power limit for the ballasts has now been introduced. This limits the power that the ballast can generate to an acceptable level of 10W.
This upper limit has raised some issues with the use of T12 lamps. As a result Victor Lighting are only recommending the use of T8 lamps with EOL protected Excalibur® and Trident models.
Charging of Excalibur® Ni-Cd Battery Packs In New Luminaires and in Replacement Battery Packs
If going to the expense of buying and installing emergency lighting, it is essential at the point of installation to ensure that the batteries are fully charged and fit for the purpose they are being used for.
This bulletin explains how to ensure the replacement battery packs or batteries within new products are cycled properly and ready for use.
Battery Control & Management – Excalibur VL24E Fluorescent Luminaire
This bulletin details the operation and functionality of the “Battery Control & Management” option for the Excalibur® Exe fluorescent product.
It is becoming increasingly important to monitor the condition of the batteries in emergency lighting products. The new “/BCM” feature for the Excalibur® removes the responsibility for manual monitoring as the ballast will automatically carry out this function and report, via the LEDs, any problems with the lamp, battery or ballast.
Under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, Victor are a 'Producer' of 'Industrial' batteries and as such, are obliged to take back waste batteries supplied to an end user for proper disposal.
If any customer of Victor requires us to take back industrial batteries of our supply, they should contact the quality department at Victor to obtain the necessary authority. When this has been granted, the customer should make the necessary arrangements for the return of the industrial batteries to Victor. From that point, Victor will take full responsibility for the correct disposal of the batteries.
There is an onging debate within the lighting industry; in particular the sector developing luminaires for use in hazardous areas, about the end of lamp life (EOL) phenomenon in fluorescent lamps. Although this EOL phenomenon is not new, a series of potentially catastrophic failures realting to competitors products has rasied questions about the safety of Exe fluorescent luminaires.
This presentation sets out the facts relating to EOL and demonstrates how Victor Lighting fluorescents are protected in line with the latest standards.
The Victor Lighting product range can be used with a number of different lamp types. To assist we have created an easy cross reference matrix to guide you in the appropriate lamp type and partcode to order.
